SITE Issue 2 1988
Steve a long time user drew the drug users union advert. I drew ‘Last Days of the Dinosaurs’ and ‘The Robinsons’. With a couple of exceptions, from Issue 3 onwards I wrote and drew everything in SITE. I had never drawn a cartoon before, but had I trained as a fine artist. It was all hand drawn and glued on to paper, long before desktop publishing and design computers were around.
An evaluation of the first two issues of the comic, ‘Comics as a strategy in reducing drug related harm’ was produced by Mark Gilman in 1989, which although we have an printed copy, the original was either done on a type writer or an early Amstrad, so no electronic copy of the text seems to exist.
